OC Forever Summer Artist Search Culminates with Big City Celebration!

October 11, 2011

Hilton Anaheim recently celebrated the end of the OC Forever Summer Artist Search with a huge soiree to unveil the art that now enhances the walls of our recently renovated pool area of our hotel.

After months of searching with the help of our friends at MUZEO for artists who conveyed the OC Forever Summer  theme through their renderings,  three incredibly talented artists were chosen and immediately got to work on what is today, one-of-a-kind works of art on the walls of our hotel pool area! A special thanks goes out to our friends at the Orange County Tourism Council for coming up with such a great tagline to represent our community.

The unveiling event was a huge success as the city of Anaheim came out in droves to support the hotel’s community involvement in the arts including Anaheim’s very own, Mayor Tom Tait who received a self portrait painted by one of the winners.

The event also featured a performance from Battle of The Dance which was the perfect compliment to a night dedicated to the Arts!

Come visit Hilton Anaheim and see these works of art for yourself!

Hilton Anaheim Lobby 2.0

December 1, 2008

Mix Lounge lobby bar - Coming Soon

We finally have some pictures of our  totally renovated lobby. In fact, the lobby is so new that it’s not even done yet. So think of these pictures as a preview of what’s to come when new lighting and artwork is installed in the coming weeks. But we are just too excited to wait any longer to show you how far the Hilton Anaheim has come in the past year.

The new lobby lounge and renovated restaurant will become Mix Restaurant & Lounge, a swanky new place to gather in Anaheim. In the coming days, we’ll be introducing the menus and providing more information on the new restaurant and lounge. Stay tuned!

Demolition Derby

November 20, 2008

Old signage comes downAs our $60+ million renovation enters the home stretch and we race toward the finish line, let us pause to reflect. And by reflect, we mean “look at really cool pictures of demolition and chaos!” from more than a year’s worth of renovation construction. (Note that these are old photos. For current, renovated photos click hereAll of our 1,572 guestrooms are completely renovated, as is our meeting space. And we’re putting the final touches on a gorgeous new lobby bar and restaurant.) But, right now, grab your hard hat as we look to the past year for a tour of our very own “Demolition Derby” behind-the-scenes tour of what the start of renovation looked like.

Sometimes even a fitness center needs a nip/tuck

Hilton World Headquarters Fitness Center - Beverly Hills

Here in Southern California, the land of the toned and tanned, we tend to appreciate a good work-out. So when our fitness facilities start to droop and sag, we call in the experts to do an extreme makeover, asap!

This coming Monday, our Hilton Anaheim Fitness Center will begin its rejuvenation. All brand-new Hilton Fitness by Precor equipment is on its way, to be accompanied by a new design scheme that is destined to make the facility look years younger (sort of like it just got the most amazing night’s sleep). The cardio machines will feature “Cardio Theater” – individual LCD monitors with cable TV. It’s kind of being a channel-surfing couch potato, only you burn calories instead of consuming them.

We’re also going to be one of the first facilities in the area to offer Rowbics, a group exercise program featuring state-of-the-art rowing machines. Our instructors are undergoing training so that we can add fast-paced, fun new classes to our class schedules. Of course, we’ll continue to offer spinning (new bikes are already here!), BodyWorks toning classes and Yoga Stretch.

During this construction (er, excuse me, rejuvenation), a temporary fitness area is being set-up close to the existing facility. The locker rooms, massage/spa areas, indoor pool and spin room will remain open and fully functional. Stay tuned for more details, and don’t forget: a calorie saved is a calorie earned. Or something like that.

Some things never change

October 23, 2008

Maybe that headline should be re-written to say: Some things don’t need to change. For instance, while nearly everything in the HIlton Anaheim lobby is new or undergoing renovation, we’re keeping a few timeless elements, including this 40-foot sculptural mural created 24 years ago by renowed Orange County artist Dora DeLarios.

The porcelain and gold leaf artwork has taken on a new prominence now that it is surrounded by the darker, earthier tones of the new lobby. DeLarios’ work is featured throughout Southern California and internationally. You can learn more about her work at her website. And stay tuned for lots of updates about new features and artwork in our lobby.

A warm and contemporary new design

October 17, 2008

Designed by the San Francisco-based design firm Puccini Group, whose high profile projects can be seen around the world, the new Hilton Anaheim lobby will “be a soothing escape from the surrounding urban elements, while still being sleek, sophisticated and distinctly Californian,” according to the designers. The new lobby is scheduled for completion mid-November 2008.

The focal point of the lobby lounge will be a massive backlit onyx bar. To calm the senses, a waterfall will glide over an artful geode in the center of the room. New tile work, rich carpeting and dramatic lighting round out the transformed ambiance of the lobby.

“The lobby is the heart of any hotel and sets the tone for the entire guest experience,” said Harold Rapoza, general manager of the Hilton Anaheim. “Our lobby will be contemporary, serene and inspiring. It will be a place where people want to gather, work, dine and entertain.”
