Second Annual Christmas Tree Lane Fundraiser Benefiting The Eli Home for Abused Children Lights Up Lobby of the Hilton Anaheim

Nonprofit organization fighting to keep its doors open hosts holiday event to raise funds to meet looming December 31 deadline

ANAHEIM, Calif. – November 28, 2012 – Organizers of the Second Annual Christmas Tree Lane fundraiser to benefit The Eli Home for Abused Children, a 29-year-old Anaheim-based nonprofit, are hoping the sale of professionally decorated artificial Christmas trees will help raise $200,000 by year-end so the charity can continue serving families in need.

The fundraiser is the result of a renewed partnership announced today between The Eli Home and the Hilton Anaheim, Orange County’s largest full-service hotel, which brought the holiday promotional concept to the nonprofit last year.

Sponsored by local partners, such as the Anaheim / Orange County Visitor’s Convention Bureau, The Anaheim Garden Walk, Enterprise-Rent-a-Car and the Hilton Anaheim to name a few, the trees are currently on display in the hotel’s lobby, but will be adorning homes and businesses after the organization’s Black and White Holiday Ball on December 6.

“I am pleased to support the great work of The Eli Home of Anaheim,” says Hilton Anaheim general manager Shaun Robinson. “The Hilton Anaheim places a strong priority on helping our community organizations that benefit children in need and we will continue to do so for as long as our doors are open.”

“The Eli Home is grateful for the wonderful partnership of the Hilton Anaheim.,” says The Eli Home for Abused Children executive director, Lorri Galloway. “Without the caring commitment of such generous supporters, our work could not continue.”

Available for purchase via an online auction and through bids placed at the hotel via computer kiosks, the Christmas trees are lighted, decorated. Some even come with $100 gift certificates to Anaheim White House Bistro, McCormack’s & Schmitt’s, Morton’s Steakhouse, Ruth Chris, the Cheesecake Factory, and many more. All trees will be delivered to their final locations early December.

OC Forever Summer Artist Search Culminates with Big City Celebration!

 Hilton Anaheim recently celebrated the end of the OC Forever Summer Artist Search with a huge soiree to unveil the art that now enhances the walls of our recently renovated pool area of our hotel.

After months of searching with the help of our friends at MUZEO for artists who conveyed the OC Forever Summer  theme through their renderings,  three incredibly talented artists were chosen and immediately got to work on what is today, one-of-a-kind works of art on the walls of our hotel pool area! A special thanks goes out to our friends at the Orange County Tourism Council for coming up with such a great tagline to represent our community.


The unveiling event was a huge success as the city of Anaheim came out in droves to support the hotel’s community involvement in the arts including Anaheim’s very own, Mayor Tom Tait who received a self portrait painted by one of the winners.

The event also featured a performance from Battle of The Dance which was the perfect compliment to a night dedicated to the Arts!

2009 Gold Key Award

M&C have been recognizing and awarding meeting properties, catering departments and convention and visitor bureaus with an M&C Gold Award for 30 years!

Awards are given out annually and broken into separate categories. The Gold Key Awards are given to the finest meeting properties in the world and the Gold Service Awards are presented to CVB’s who are dedicated to meeting professionals. The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, was awarded the 2009 Gold Service Award this year!

10th Annual Dux in Tux

Anaheim Ducks FoundationOn October 28th, Hilton Anaheim hosted the 10th annual “Dux n Tux” gala, benefiting the Anaheim Ducks Foundation. The mission of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation, is to facilitate and support programs that support positive change for children and families throughout Southern California, by providing educational opportunities , broadening access to the sport of hockey and addressing the health and wellness needs of our community.

250 vip guests were treated to an amazing culinary experience. Twenty-three different Chef’s, from local restaurants, prepared a five-course menu at the guest’s table side, with the assistance of Anaheim Ducks players at each table. No two tables had the same food or table settings. Ducks players were dressed “in tux” and assisted in preparing the food, pouring wine, and serving entrees, to their guests who were primarily made up of corporate sponsors, donors and Ducks fans!

There was an incredible array of Ducks memorabilia and Duck experiences that were auctioned off via silent and live auctions to raise money for the Ducks Foundation.

A very special recognition goes out to the Hilton Anaheim Culinary team who put together an incredible menu for three tables, including the Ducks’ wives. Given the challenges of having 23 chefs from the outside, descend upon your kitchen to prepare their own recipes, was a unique opportunity for the Hilton team. Once again, the Hilton team of Chefs proved why they are considered some of the very best in the industry, with rave revues coming from all tables about the presentation, variety and delicious food.

Our PSAV team collaborated with the Ducks event planners and Hilton Banquet team to showcase the event, “in the round,” with the stage in the center of the Pacific Ballroom and the seating and cooking surrounding the stage.

According to Ducks officials, it was one of the most unique, innovative  and imaginative Dux n Tux they have had in the 10 year history of the event.

Once again, the Culinary and banquet teams at Hilton Anaheim have set the bar for such events where there is a need to “wow” the guests who attend these events year after year.

2009 You’ve Just Been Spotted OC Blog Awards

You've Just Been SpottedOn August 19, the first annual “You’ve Just Been Spotted” Orange County Blog Awards took place at Wowzville in Laguna Hills. This event was put on by the hosts of Just Spotted, Kelly and Coleen. Nominees were invited to attend this social gathering in a fun interactive environment. There were several different blogging categories to be nominated for and Hilton Anaheim was honored to have been nominated for Orange County’s Favorite Local Micro-Blogger Award.

Just Spotted NomineeThe event was a huge success. Kelly and Coleen did an incredible job. As you approached the building there was a classic photo booth waiting for you to jump in and take some cool vintage pictures. Capital Photo Booth provided the booth for the mixer.

Orange County has some extraordinary bloggers and it was great to meet everyone in person. There were so many delicious treats including Dippin Dots, which were donated to the event thanks to Debbie our amazing @dippindotwoman. There is nothing like -42 degree dots to hit your taste buds. Delicious!

Everyone gathered at the Orange County’s soon to be biggest Award show, because they are not only phenomenal bloggers but incredible people. The winners were announced via Twitter shortly after 8PM. A BIG congratulations to all of the award winners and nominees. Check out Just Spotted to see who won and view the blogs of all the nominees.

Fairy Tale ThemeRace Car ThemeWowzville is a place unlike any other. It is the perfect location to throw your child’s (or adult’s) next birthday party. There are different rooms with different themes and every room is extremely interactive. You can have a fairytale, space, mystery, or race car theme and it is definitely a perfect place for a party!

Everyone had a great time and the event was a huge success. It is amazing to see where Social Media has gone in just a few short months. I came across a video on @AngryJulie‘s blog, who won the 2009 Favorite Local Micro-Blogger Award. This video is the perfect way to show how powerful social media really is. VIDEO
