Paint Your Heart Out!
Paint Your Heart Out is a California, volunteer-driven, non-profit organization, that helps low to moderate income, senior, or disabled homeowners maintain their dignity, safety and connections to the community by painting and providing homeowners with essential repairs and upkeep to their homes.
The program is supported by individuals, businesses, foundations and fund-raisers. Volunteers around the community donate supplies and their hard work to repair and refurbish homes.
On Friday, April 9, Hilton Anaheim had a “Casual for a Cause” day. Team Members were allowed to wear jeans to work if they donated $5 to the Paint Your Heart Out association. Team Members also receive a button to wear under their name tag that shows their support of Paint Your Heart Out. Everyone loves Jeans Friday and every month we raise money for a different organization.
On Saturday, April 17, Team Members will gather at a local residence in Anaheim for “Prep Day.” Prep day activities could include patching stucco damage, putty windows, scrape away chipped and loose paint, prime bare wood, trim shrubs, move items away from exterior walls and clearing up the yard.
Each year, 1500 community volunteers commit their time and talent to Prep and Paint Days. On average, each team consists of 15-20 volunteers who donate about 20 hours and provide painting, landscaping, and exterior home repairs.
This year Paint Your Heart Out celebrates their 20th year in Anaheim! For more information on Paint Your Heart Out or to find out about volunteer opportunities, visit their website at http://www.pyho.org!
